The invention relates to a device for grinding saw blades, in particular circular saws, comprising a holding device for the saw blade and a grinding wheel driven in rotation by a driving motor. The object of the invention is to provide a device for grinding saw blades which is simple and very economical to produce and on which even inexperienced operatives can sharpen the teeth of saw blades easily and rapidly by grinding. The invention solves this object by virtue of the fact that a holding device for the saw blade is arranged pivotably and displaceably on a stand which carries a holding device for the driving motor of the grinding wheel and the grinding wheel itself. In order to be able to sharpen even set saw blades or saw blades provided with alternating teeth, a wedge corresponding to the set can be inserted transversely between the carriage and the saw blade in order to bring the saw blade into a tilted position. <IMAGE>
