PURPOSE:To obtain a light-gage strip of a quickly cooled alloy suited for an iron core for electrical apparatus and a magnetic head having a multilayered construction, by applying extremely thin insulation layers on the surfaces of a thin magnetic alloy sheet. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic materials 1 and insulator materials 2 are inserted between the partitions of an SiC crucible 4 having high thermal conductivity and are heated with a high-frequency coil 3 to melt the respective materials. The molten material is pressurized with high pressure gaseous Ar from above the crucible 4 and the molten metal is ejected into between two rotating rolls 5, whereby the molten metal is quickly cooled. A composite light-gage strip 6 having a multilayered construction is produced from between the rolls 5, whereby the simultaneous production of the interlayer insulation films and the light- gage alloy strip is made possible and the number of steps is reduced. |
