6 beta -Acylamino-1-oxadethiapenicillanic acids of the following formula <IMAGE> in which A denotes hydrogen or methoxy and R denotes an aliphatic, aromatic, heterocyclic, araliphatic or heterocyclic-aliphatic carboxylic acid radical or the 1-aminocyclohexylcarbonyl radical, are prepared. These compounds are obtained by introducing the carboxylic acid radical R into an appropriate 6 beta -amino compound or beta -benzamido compound. The acid group and/or the amino group in the starting compounds can be intermediately protected. The compounds obtained can also be converted into their salts, amide and ester derivatives. The penicillanic acids prepared can be used as antibiotics. |
