PURPOSE:To obtain a transmission line of a double length with a delay means of the same size, by forming an ultrasonic wave delay line in such a way that the ultrasonic wave radiated from an input piezoelectric element is made incident to an output piezoelectric element after going and coming back the transmission line within a delay means. CONSTITUTION:Both input and output piezoelectric elements 11 and 12 are attached in parallel to the side surface 16 of a pair of side surfaces 16 and 17 which are formed by cutting obliquely with a 45 angle the corner parts at both sides of a side of a delay means 13 of glass, etc. The surface 16 is vertical to the main transmission surface of the medium 13. A transmission line 14 is provided within said main transmission surface, and a sound absorbing member 15 is provided. The ultrasonic wave radiated from the element 11 to the medium 13 is transmitted while reflected repetitively along the line 14 within the medium 13 and furthermore reflected by the other surface 17 to go back to the element 12 through the same line 14. In such a way, a double delay time is obtained with the same size of the delay medium. |
