A device for dyeing a portion of a strip of fabric comprises a pair of endless flat belts (11) guided by pulleys (12) through a dyeing zone (13) and a drying zone (14), the belts (11) being adjacent one another in their traverse through the zones, the arrangement being such that the fabric has an upper portion thereof retained between the adjacent belts and a lower portion depending therefrom.
