A sun protection device has a plurality of parallel lamellae (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), which are connected to one another via at least two scissor arrangements (13), each scissor arrangement being formed from a plurality of pairs of levers (14, 15) each pivoted on one another and being guided on the building at a plurality of points (17) disposed parallel to one another. A drive device (23 to 25) is provided for adjusting the sun protection device or the lamellae. To make it possible for the scissors-type construction to be used even with a relatively large length of lamellae and to ensure an orderly guiding of the individual lamellae (1 to 5) for the particular use, the scissor arrangements (13) are distributed between the ends of the lamellae (1 to 5). The lamellae each have, in alignment, a perforation (27) for the passage of two levers (14, 15) each per scissor arrangement. Each lamella (1 to 5) is firmly connected to one of the two levers (14) of one pair of levers in each case. <IMAGE>
