PURPOSE:To accurately discriminate the internal state of a receway which changes momentarily by photographing a fixed visual field of the raceway and by effectively grasping the luminance distribution of te resulting picture as an index. CONSTITUTION:A video camera 1 provided with a superhigh-speed shutter is put in a tuyere from the viewing window up to the tip by means of a scope 2 to continuously take pictures. The pictures are inputted in a processor 4 through a monitor 3 to calculate the luminance gradient in the vertical direction, and the gradient is displayed on a monitor 5. The visual field of the resulting picture P showing the luminance distribution is kept constant in a direction where information on the luminance distribution is advantageously obtd. in the vertical direction. In order to quantitatively grasp the luminance distribution, the luminance along a vertical supposed standard line L crossing the central part C of the visual field is continuously measured at suitable intervals to obtain a luminance distribution curve S. The curve S is corrected by dividing by the average luminance of the whole image to obtain a luminance distribution index of the visual field, and by gathering separate indexes, a standard index is obtd. The three- dimensional structure of a raceway can be estimated by comparing the standard index to an index of each visual field. |
