A vehicle clutch control device comprises a clutch-operating cable 7 coupled to a piston 2, 4 which is surrounded by a solenoid 44 and has a piston head 21 containing a one-way valve 25. The valve is between an hydraulic cylinder 27 and an outlet 14 forming part of a circuit including solenoid valves and an inlet 34 to the cylinder. The solenoid 44 and solenoid valves are controlled by an electronic circuit so that the clutch remains engaged during foot braking at high vehicle speed but disengages during foot braking at low vehicle speed. If the foot brake is pressed and the circuit turned off when the vehicle is stationary, the clutch cannot be engaged thus preventing theft. When a push button on a gear change lever is depressed, the clutch and a hand brake, if engaged, are released. <IMAGE> |
