<p>PURPOSE:To reduce nitrogen oxide in a combustion gas with coke particles and remove the nitrogen oxide, by circulating the coke particles through fluidized beds in a reaction column and a heating column, heating the coke particles with a high-temperature combustion gas in the heating column under specific conditions, and thermally cracking a heavy oil in the reaction column with the heated coke particles. CONSTITUTION:Fluidized beds for coke particles are provided in a reaction column 1 and a heating column 2 side by side, and the coke particles are circulated through the two columns 1 and 2 and heated in the heating column 2 by a high-temperature combustion gas from a combustion furnace 15 attached to the heating column 2. A heavy oil fed from a raw material feed line 3 is thermally cracked in the reaction column 1 by using the coke particles 12 at the high temperature as a heating medium. In the process, the operation is carried out to make the gas flow rate G [m<3>/sec] in a waste gas line 20 of the heating column 2, the volume V [m<3>] of the heating part of the fluidized bed in the heating column 2 and the average diameter dp [mm.] of the fluidized coke particles satisfy the formula, and the resultant nitrogen oxide, generated in the combustion furnace 3 and flowing into the heating column 2 is reduced by the coke particles 12 and removed.</p> |
