PURPOSE:To form an image of good quality free from coarse grain by such an arrangement wherein a specific relation is maintained between the optical density of a basic point and its duty ratio in forming a pattern composed of characters, symbols, etc. by forming and arranging pattern basic points. CONSTITUTION:For patterns which continue at a relatively high optical density, characters, symbols, etc. are formed by arranging pattern basic points (plural forming points of minimum unit for forming one image element) so that its duty ratio [a ratio represented by the formula shown (b represents the radius of a basic point, T represents the pitch of basic points)] becomes more than 0.5. As the optical density of a basic point becomes higher, it is preferable that the lower limit of said duty ratio should be raised. |
