PURPOSE:To keep the combustion efficiency always at a high level, by detecting variation in the types of refuse by observing the long-period varying wave form of the quantity of steam generated by a waste heat boiler associated with an incinerator and controlling the supply rate of refuse, and controlling the air supply rate by observing the short-period varying wave form. CONSTITUTION:A means for measuring the quantity of generated steam is disposed a proper position of a waste heat boiler 2 associated with an incinerator 1 for detecting the wave form of variation in the quantity of generated steam, and the wave form thus obtained is furnished to a varying wave form divider, which analyzes the wave form into a long-period varying component and a short-period varying component.
