PURPOSE:To cover and repair the cracked part of the heat transmitting tube by depositing a metal from the inside thereof by employing a sputtering method. CONSTITUTION:When the crack 6 is generated on the heat transmitting tube 3 and the repair therefor is effected, an evacuating device 7 and an evacuating equipment 20 are used to evacuate the inside of the heat transmitting tube 3 and a cylinder 1, an outside atmosphere of the tube, at first. Next, argon gas is introduced into the heat transmitting tube 3 through a gas introducing tube 14 from an argon gas supplying source 15 to increase the pressure in the tube 3 to the degree of 1-0.1Torr. Then, a high voltage is impressed between an electrode rod 11 and the tube 3 by an electric source 13 after forming the cooling system. According to this method, the glow discharge of the argon is formed around the electrode rod 11 and ionized argon Ar<+> sputters the surface of the electrode rod 11 which is the negative side of the voltage. The metal of the electrode rod flies out as the atoms thereof, flies linearly and arrives at the inner surface of the tube 3 including the penetrating crack part 6 thereby forming a thin film (coating layer) 21 thereon. According to this method, the crack 6 may be filled-in. |
