PURPOSE:To make easier the construction of a foundation for building in cold areas as well as reduce its construction cost by a method in which a foundation is formed through a mixture of soil, heat-insulating particles and a soil hardening agent in a trench deeper than a freezing line formed in the ground. CONSTITUTION:A concrete foundation 5 is formed upwardly form the upper part of a freezing line 2 in the ground 1 through a mixture 4 packed in the surrounding in a trench 3 formed deeper than the line 2. The mixture 4 used is composed of soil 6, heat-insulating particles 7 (e.g., foamed styrol light-weight particles) of a diameter of about 0.1-0.5mm. and a soil hardening agent 8 in given proportions. An uprising part 10 is vertically and integrally formed at the center of the footing 9 buried above the line 2 in the foundation 5. The construction of the foundation can be easily performed simply by excavating the trench 3 to a depth slightly deeper than the line 2. |
