<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having excellent surface lubricity, by incorporating a fluoroalcohol compd. in a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer contg. the fluoroalcohol expressed by a general formula and polyisocyanate is coated on a substrate. The amt. of the fluoroalcohol to be added based on 100pts.wt. the magnetic material is 0.05-20pts.wt., preferably 0.1-10pts.wt., more preferably 0.5-5pts.wt. The fluoroalcohol compd. may be added either in the stage of impregnating the same in ferromagnetic fine powder or before or after dispersing the ferromagnetic fine powder in a binder or may be coated on the top of the undried magnetic layer after said layer is coated on the substrate. The polyisocyanate retains the fluoroalcohol having a hydroxyl group of high acidity in the magnetic layer to make the surface of the magnetic layer hydrophobic.</p> |
