发明名称 FORMATION OF LEAD-ACID BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve property of the interface between a grid and an active mass to increase the life of a battery without deterioration of high rate discharge performance by charging at a current of 0.3qA or more in the end of preformation or in the beginning of main formation. CONSTITUTION:Very short time of charge is conducted in an alkaline solution or a neutral solution, and then in dilute sulfuric acid solution having a concentration of 15wt% or less as a preformation to preferentially form alpha-PbO2 having poor activity but good conductivity on the surface of a grid and on the interface between the grid and an active mass layer. When theoretical charge capacity per cell or plate for formation is indicated as qAh, a plate is charged at a large current of 0.3qA or more which vigorously generate gas. By this process, the solution in voids which enter in preformation is quickly released and new solution is introduced in the voids. Then the plate is charged in highly concentrated sulfuric solution of above 15wt% which easily form beta-PbO2 for charging active mass which parts from the grid.
