<p>Heavy vehicle brake linings are skimmed, using pneumatic power drill driven milling cutter (2) which, via eccentric mounted bearings, is seated in a round milling spindle holder (3) which fits rotatably and slidably in a round outer bush (4). The bush is fixed by a clamping bolt (5) in the required position. The bush is mounted on the wheel hub (9) by connecting brackets (7), using two through bolts (8). The entire assembly is concentrically movable by hand, to follow the brake lining surface with the rotary milling tool. The bush is slidable, within limits, over the milling spindle holder (3), enabling work to be carried out on linings at different heights. A safety hood with a dust extractor is fitted over the cutter.</p> |
