The supportive respiration unit is controlled in dependence on the patient's breathing pattern. A chamber is divided by a membrane and has at least two openings, one of which is coupled to a reference pressure line. A second connection line links the chamber with the supply line between the respiration unit and the patient. A thermistor probe being inserted in this second line, with a regulation circuit responsive to variations in the electrical parameters of the thermistor probe. Pref. the latter is inserted in a narrow dia. probe line, with the membrane chamber device controlling the vol. of air flowing across it, with a small air curent producing a relatively high degree of cooling. This endows the thermistor probe with a rapid response rate, wit the respirator controlled accordingly using the voltage across the thermistor probe. |
