PURPOSE:To remarkably enhance the separation and removal degree of a suspended substance, by a method wherein the suspended substance in sewage waste water is preliminarily coagulated and the coagulated one is strongly coagulated along with a magnetic material to be supplied to a magnetic separation apparatus. CONSTITUTION:In subjecting sewage waste water to be treated to magnetic separation treatment as raw water, an appropriated coagulant is divided into two or more parts to be added to said raw water. In this case, one or more part thereof is added prior to throwing in a magnetic material to prelimiarily coaglate the suspended substance in said raw water and other one or more part is further added simultaneously with the throwing-in of the magnetic material or after said magnetic material is thrown in to strongly co-coagulate the suspended substance which is in turn subjected to magnetic separation. As the coagulant, one kind or more one appropriately selected corresponding to properties of said raw water to be treated is used and, because said coagulant co-coagulates the suspended substance and the magnetic material, it is essential that at least one part is added prior to adding said magnetic material to carry out preliminary coagulation. |
