PURPOSE:To improve the color reproducibility of a silver halide photographic sensitive material and the light fastness of a magenta dye image by incorporating a specified magenta coupler and two kins of specified compounds into at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide photographic sensitive material having one or more silver halide emulsion layers on the support contains a magenta coupler represented by formula I, a compound represented by formula II and a compound represented by formula III in at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers. In the formula I, Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a heterocyclic ring contg. N, the formed ring may have a substituent, X is H or a substituent eliminable by a reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and R is H or a substituent. In the formula II, each of R1 and R2 is alkyl, R3 is alkyl, -NR'R'', -SR' (R' is a univalent org. group) or -COOR'' (R'' is H or a univalent org. group) and m is an integer of 0-3. In the formula III, each of R21 and R22 is H, alkyl or the like and each of R23-R26 is H, halogen or the like. The coupler is used by 1X10<-3>-1mol, preferably 1X10<-2>-8X10<-1>mol per 1mol silver halide. The compound represented by the formula II is used by 5mu10<-2>-3mol per 1mol coupler. The compound represented by the formula III is preferably used by 1X10<-3>-1mol per 1mol coupler. |
