PURPOSE:To continuously detect and determine arsenic in a sample with high accuracy, by moving a reaction vessel contg. a sample soln., acid, and stannous chloride in accordance with the movement of coloring filter paper, adding zinc into this vessel, and leading the produced gas to the filter paper. CONSTITUTION:Reaction vessel 4, 5 contg. a sample soln., hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and stannous chloride are moved with a conveyor 9 in parallel to the movement of coloring filter paper 2. Prescribed amts. of zinc powder 23 are added into the vessels 4, 5 with a feeding means 10, and each produced gas is led to the paper 2 through an inverted U-shaped pipe of a gastight stopper fitting means 10. A yellowish black coloring part 30 is produced, and its reflected light is measured with the photometer 29 of a coloring state detector 14 to detect and determine arsenic. |
