PURPOSE:To aim at cost reduction and increase in a fuel tank capacity in a compact horizontal engine, by projecting an upper portion of a fuel tank body over auxiliary parts so as to cover the auxiliary parts and thereby to utilize a fuel tank as a bonnet. CONSTITUTION:A radiator 3, an air cleaner 4 on the left side of the radiator, and a body 5a of a fuel tank 5 on the right side of the radiator are arranged on an upper surface of a horiontal engine 1, and an upper portion 5b of the body 5a is projected over the radiator 3 and the air cleaner 4 to act as a bonnet. The fuel tank 5 is formed by seam welding of an upper and lower members 8 and 9, and is supported through a bracket 12 and a support shaft for opening and closing same to the engine 1. Accordingly, even when a butterfly nut 20 is removed for supplying coolant into the radiator 3 or checking the air cleaner 4, a tank cap 23 remains on the fuel tank regardless of upstanding motion of the fuel tank 5, and therefore, overflow of fuel does not occur. Thus, cost may be reduced and a fuel tank capacity may be increased. |
