PURPOSE:To prevent burst of an expansion member by providing a expansion member which surrounds in airtight manner a part projected outward from the cylinder chamber of a piston rod, with a separat chamber which further separates said expansion member airtightly from outside and by providing a connecting passage which connects an air space in the separate chamber to the upper part of a float chamber. CONSTITUTION:An expansion member 14, which surrounds airtightly a part projected outward from a cylinder chamber 4 of a piston rod 7 for an accelerator pump, is provided with a separated chamber 17, which further separates airtightly the expansion member from outside. And a connecting passage 18, which connects the air space in the separate chamber 17 to the upper part of a float chamber 3, is also provided. As the result, both the inner and outer surfaces of the expansion member 14 are all connected to the upper part of the float chamber 3 via the connecting passage 18 and a return opening 15. Therefore, even if large positive pressure by a supercharger is applied to the float chamber 3, both pressures acting on both inner and outer surfaces of the expansion member are balanced with each other, surely preventing hazards such as brust or disconnection of the expansion member 14. |
