The apparatus for the longitudinal and transverse severing of continuous foil-like webs, in particular tobacco foil, is preferably used in the manufacture of cutting foil for the cigarette industry. The object of the invention is to provide an apparatus which, arranged for example directly on a foil-casting machine, permits the process for the longitudinal and transverse severing to form high-quality cutting foil and is characterised by reliability, ease of maintenance and low wear. The technical object is achieved by the fact that, in a functional context, longitudinal severing and transverse severing are performed in direct succession, both the advancing and the tightening of the foil web being effected by appropriate arrangement of rollers, some of which have different rotational speeds, and a reliable severing being brought about by assignment of appropriate severing members. Besides the preferred application of tobacco foil, the invention is also suitable for severing foils of different materials, such as paper, leather, plastics and the like. The directly succeeding longitudinal and transverse severing forming the object of the invention are also functionally possible independently of one another. |
