In the porudction of sliding clasp closures, a pair of continuous tapes, having portions exempt of closure elements spaced along their lengths, are moved forwards to be fitted with a sliding clasp, then stopped so that the tapes may be cut across at the closure element-free portion behind the sliding clasp. An end stop comprising a pin & a receiving box is fitted on the tapes at their heads, in front of the sliding clasp. The appts. provides the successive stages of fitting the sliding clasp, mounting the separable end-stop and cutting the tapes to form sliding clasp closures of variable length.
