The invention relates to a jaw for a safety ski binding which can be released at will and when dangerous loading states are reached and has a pivotally mounted retaining device for firmly holding a ski boot by means of a piston which can be displaced in a cylinder, which cylinder forms a closed hydraulic system with a further cylinder, in which a further piston can be displaced, it being possible for the first piston to be subjected to pressure fluid by the further piston by a non-return valve which can be bridged by means of a solenoid or pressure-relief valve, and the activation of the solenoid valve being performed by a computer processing signals from force transducers. The invention is based on the technical problem of designing such a jaw for a safety ski binding in such a way that it can be fitted in its entirety on a ski and has the comfort usual in the case of safety ski bindings. This problem is solved by the retaining device being formed by a highly pivotable sole holder, and by the two pistons being arranged one above the other and parallel to the upper side of the ski, preferably in the housing of the jaw, of which pistons at least the upper piston, preferably both pistons, is, or are, supported on a control face of the sole holder, at least in the descent position of the jaw. <IMAGE> |
