PURPOSE:To provide a roll which is inexpensively and easily manufacturable and has good efficiency of use, by welding an annular cylindrical part, which is provided with a recessed circumferential groove of a revolving bearing member, into the inward flange of a cylindircal member having a large diameter coaxially by friction thereby sticking the flange and the annular cylindrical part. CONSTITUTION:An inward flange 11 is provided to a cylindrical member 1 of a large diameter consisting of a metallic material having relatively a low m.p. On the other hand, a revolving bearing member 2 consisting of a metallic material having a m.p. higher than the m.p. of said relatively low melting material is constituted of a bearing part 21 having the diameter larger than the inside diameter of the flange 11 and an annular cylindrical part 22 having the diameter smaller than the same and provided with a circumferential groove 23. The member 2 is rotated at a high speed in an arrow direction; at the same time, the member 1 is pushed concentrically in an arrow direction to the end face 24 of the bearing 2. The end face 12 of the flange 11 is gradually chipped off by the end face 24, and the formed molten part 11' fills the inside of the groove 23. The flange 11 is thus fitted substantially to the groove 23, and both members 1, 2 are securely stuck to one body by such construction, whereby the roll is formed. |
