Process for recovering potassium ions from natural brines by a natural evaporation process.

Process for the treatment by fractional natural evaporation in a number of successive ponds of brines, the salts of which precipitate in the following order: sodium chloride, kainite, carnallite, bischofite. According to this process carnallitic kainite and a carnallite containing less than 20 % of sulphate salts are precipitated and the potassium ions are recovered in a known manner, while obtaining at the end of treatment products with a potassium content and characteristics which are commercially acceptable. <IMAGE>
