PURPOSE:To prevent a damper from thrusting a vehicle body upwards, by accurately detecting the condition of driving on a bad road to control the damping force of the damper. CONSTITUTION:A driving method sensor 6 and a vertical acceleration sensor 7 are provided. When the four wheels of a vehicle are driven and the vertical acceleration of the vehicle body is not lower than a prescribed level, a bad-road driving detection circuit provided in a controller 5 judges the vehicle being driven on a bad road and operates damping force control solenoids S to shut orifices to heighten the damping force of a damper. When the vehicle is being driven on a good road, the orifices are kept open to set the damping force at a low level to promote the comfortableness of ride. This constitution prevents the damper from thrusting the vehicle body upwards and improves the stability of driving and the property of passing through the bad road. |
