The subject-matter of the application is a stepping motor by means of which very small angular steps can be carried out. It is based on a known stepping motor which operates, for example, on the swash-plate principle in which a circular contact surface (11) of a rotor (6) is rolled off, as a result of the operation of electromagnets (2, 3), on a circular contact surface (4) having a somewhat shorter length of the stator (1). According to one embodiment, the rotor (6) carries a further contact surface (12) which, on operation of a further electromagnet arrangement (17, 18), is rolled off on a contact surface (15) of an output drive arrangement (14) which is supported such that it can rotate. The track length of the contact surface (12) on the rotor side is somewhat longer in this case as well. In the case of successive driving of the electromagnets (2, 3 and 17, 18) of both electromagnet arrangements in the same rotation sense, one rotation of the output drive arrangement (14) with respect to the stator (1) is then obtained per revolution of the drives, which rotation corresponds to the difference between the length differences. <IMAGE>
