To suppress dust in the cutting extraction of coal and to facilitate the actual cutting operation, nozzles are provided in the shearing drums, which nozzles spray the entire shearing head as uniformly as possible. Damage to the nozzles and the nozzle chambers often causes an uncontrolled discharge of water and thus the collapse of the hydraulic pressure. The invention proposes to provide an arrangement to guarantee, even in the event of damage or failure of nozzles, a uniform extraction of water or a uniform flow by arranging flow limiters (20, 21, 23, 24) in the feed line (7) of each nozzle row (10, 11, 12) and the pilot nozzle (6). <IMAGE>
