In a hydraulic swivel drive for cocks, butterfly valves and similar shut-off members, an adjusting wheel is driven by means of a roller chain, transmitting compressive and tensile forces, by two parallel cylinder-piston arrangements which can be loaded in opposite directions. The roller chain is guided in a guide channel and contains pressure-transmitting intermediate pieces. As a result of a flat housing, several swivel drives can also be arranged one above the other on a shaft to be driven in order to produce high torque with swivel drives of small dimensions.
