PURPOSE:To deposit and collect a saponin mixture of high purity, by passing an uncoagulated residual liquid which is an industrial waste material through a mixed bed ion exchange resin layer, and introducing ether through the uncoagulated residual liquid at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:A large amount of a transparent uncoagulated residual liquid formed as a by-product in preparing bean curd by coagulating proteins in a soybean milk with a calcium chloride solution is passed through a mixed bed type ion exchange resin layer to remove the calcium chloride in the liquid. Ether is then introduced into the resultant solution kept at 20 deg.C or below for 24hr or longer to collect the aimed saponin. The resultant saponin is a mixture of saponins I with I and III, and if necessary can be purified by the conventional purification method to separate and collect the simple saponin. |
