In a linear drive with a screw (1) and one or more rolling-ring nuts (2) which are each provided with one or more inward-projecting rolling rings (3), the inside diameter of which is larger than the outside diameter of the screw, the centre axis (6) is perpendicular to the planes (5) of the rolling rings but at an angle to the longitudinal axis (7) of the screw. This arrangement, which only functions if extremely high precision is achieved, can be simplified and improved if the centre axis (6) intersects the longitudinal axis (7) of the screw approximately centrally between two engagement regions (8), offset relative to one another in the longitudinal direction of the screw, of each rolling-ring nut (2). <IMAGE>
