PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium free from stickiness to a magnetic layer, superior in traveling stability, and good in video characteristics, by forming a backing layer contg. a urethane resin having F in the molecule on the side of a support reverse to the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:An F-contg. urethane resin obtained from mono- or poly-ol represented by the shown formula (X is H or F; R1 is alkyl; R2 is alkylene; Y is C=O or SO2; l is 1-40; m is 0 or 1; and n is 1-20) alone or mixed with another resin conventionary used as the binder is used as a binder, and incorporated in the backing layer when needed, together with other additives, such as dispersant or antistatic agent, and this backing layer is formed on the side of the support reverse to the magnetic layer to obtain a magnetic recording medium. As a result, the obtained magnetic recording medium has no stickiness between the magnetic layer and the backing layer and superior in traveling stability. |
