HANDWRITTEN CHARACTER AND GRAPH RECOGNIZING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To expands a range of recognition, by generating a KANA (Japanese syllabary) code every time a handwritten character is inputted on a tablet, and storing the input pattern in a memory according to the KANA code and adding the KANA code in candidates of a recognition result. CONSTITUTION:An input pattern writing circuit 7 when receiging a pattern regarding one pieces of character/graph input information sends the indication of the generation of a KANA code to a KANA code generating circuit 6. The KANA code generated by the KANA code generating circuit 6 and pattern data outputted from the input pattern writing circuit 7 are stored in an input pattern storage memory 8. The KANA code is sent through an OR gate 10 to a candidate selecting circuit 3 and registered right behind a standard code string sent from a recognition circuit 2. A standard code is sent to a standard pattern generating circuit 4 and the KANA code is sent to an input pattern reading circuit 9 and the input pattern storage memory 8. The outputs of the standard pattern generating circuit 4 and input pattern storage memory 8 are sent to a display 5.
