On the display surface of the device for displaying the operating conditions of an internal combustion engine, three areas are highlighted in a performance/engine speed diagram, the points of said areas corresponding to operation of the engine at an optimum, average or low degree of efficiency. Curves representing the constant hourly fuel consumption permit the consumption to be evaluated.
