A tank, serving for the storage of fuel which is to be fed to internal-combustion engines, especially of motor vehicles, is proposed. The fuel tank has a closable mounting orifice for mounting a pot-shaped built-up housing arranged in the tank. Into the space surrounded by the walls of the built-up housing projects the suction-side end portion of a fuel-feed unit which is preferably fastened to the built-up housing. To keep the mounting orifice in the fuel tank as small as possible, the built-up housing is made multi-part, and the individual parts of the built-up housing can be connected to one another after they have been introduced into the fuel tank. <IMAGE>
