摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the correction of output data, by setting largely the area occupied with one dot more than the value of a picture element area divided by a matrix number for providing the relation of straight line between a gradation level and a picture element density. CONSTITUTION:The relation between the dot density and the ink adhering area is made nonlinear by setting an area SD occupied by one dot to a value of one picture element/matrix number. Since the relation between the ink adhering area ratio (a) (picture element area/ink dot adhering area) and the gradation level N is expressed as a=f(N), the relation between the dot density and the density of the picture element is made linear by setting the f(N) to a suitable value. In increasing the area SD of one dot as mentioned above, most part of the picture element 1 is filled in by printing four large diameter dots as #1-#4, the dots printed afterward and the printed dots are overlapped partly, and the ink adhering area ratio curve shows a saturation. Since this characteristic curve depends on how to print dots in the picture elements, minute correction is somewhat possible by this way. The relation between the gradation level and the density under the condition is almost linear.
