PURPOSE:To enable immersing and coating of only the outer surface without touching the holding device to the outer surface of a cylindrical body, by making a bag provided in the holding device expandable and contractible and locking with the inner wall of the cylindrical body by frictional force at the time of expansion. CONSTITUTION:With a rubber bag 5 contracted, a cylinder 3 is inserted vertically to the middle of a cylindrical body 7. When air is introduced from a rod 1 to the rubber bag 5 by pressure, the rubber bag 5 inflates and comes into close contact with a groove 4 and inner wall of the cylindrical body 7, and shuts off circulation of air between the cylinder 3 and cylindrical body 7. When air pressure in the rubber bag 5 is made sufficiently high, the cylindrical body becomes suspended state by the rod 1 due to frictional force between the rubber bag 5 and inner wall of the cylindrical body. This is immersed vertically into liquid and then pulled up vertically. As air is sealed in a space 8 in the lower part of the cylindrical body, the liquid hardly goes in when immersing, and only the outer surface of the cylindrical body comes into contact with the liquid.
