PURPOSE:To enable to simplify the construction, by a method wherein a type to to be used is positioned by engaging a detent means when an objective position of a detent disk rotated as one body with a type wheel is detected, in a type- type printer. CONSTITUTION:When a character to be printed is inputted, a controlling part causes electric currents to be passed to a coil 24 and a solenoid 32, and a lever 25 is rotated with a detent lever 21 attracted to an electromagnet 22, whereby the detent disk 20 is set free. Simultaneously, the rotating direction and the rotating angle of a DC motor 106 are determined on the basis of a current position, and when a predetermined number of notches 20a are detected by a photo-coupler 52, the motor 106 is stopped, and the detent lever 21 is simultaneously rotated rapidly and is engaged, whereby a type corresponding to the inputted character is properly located at the printing position. Accordingly, the type can be positioned by a simple construction without using any high-precision position detector or the like. |
