<p>The apparatus comprises a lamellar construction containing a plurality of similar partitioning elements 65 juxtaposed in pairs so as to form mutually parallel liquid flow channels, at least a part of each said element being of circular arcs in cross- section, the end of each arc being disposed at or adjacent the centre of curvature of the arc of the other element of its pair connected thereto, while the centres of curvature of the arcs coincide with every second intersection point of a notional square or rectangular matrix the pitch of which is equal to or greater than the radius of the arcs. The apparatus may be used for separating foreign matter from liquids, contacting liquids with gases, or for the biological treatment, degassing or cooling of liquids. <IMAGE></p> |
