PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a titled detector and to improve reliability, by applying a constant voltage between a pair of main electrodes having the length corresponding to a liquid level measuring range and detecting the liquid level basing on the resistance between the electrodes immersed under the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:Main electrodes 1 for detecting water level are formed by a belt-shaped electrically conductive plate having the same width and its length corresponds to a water level measuring range. A resistance R2 is connected to the main electrodes 1 in series in a detection part 2 and a constant voltage V is applied and then, its electric potential V1 at the middle point is inputted into a detection circuit M. The circuit M is provided with a comparator comparing the reference voltage with the signal voltage and the detection is performed when the signal voltage exceeds the reference voltage. The water level is detected by adjusting the reference voltage because the potential V1 is increased as the water level becomes high. |
