发明名称 METHOD FOR SUPPLYING MERCURY TO BULB
摘要 PURPOSE:To supply a correctly-measured, very small amount of mercury to a bulb and also to readily change the amount of the mercury to be supplied, by pushing up mercury through a small hole to allow the same to take a spherical shape, applying a light beam to the sphere of mercury for measurement and preparation of the required amount of mercury, and supplying the mercury thus prepared to the bulb. CONSTITUTION:Mercury filled in the mercury reservoir 1 is pushed by upward movement of the push-up piston 3 through the small-bore tube 4 and the small hole 5 into the measurement chamber 6. A light beam from the projector 8 is applied to the mercury 7 which was pushed through the samll hole 5 into the measurement chamber and took a spherical shape by its surface tension, whereby a projected image of the mercury 7 is focused on the light receiver 9. The photoelectric current developed on the photosensitive surface of the light receiver 9 is converted into a voltage to be measured by a voltmeter V. If a predetermined amount of mercury is obtained in the measurement chamber through automatic up-and-down movement of the press-up piston 3, then a gas is blown from the blow tube 10 to send the predetermined amount of mercury to the distribution tube 11 communicating with the exhaust tube of the fluorescent lamp, and the mercury can thus be supplied to the glass bulb of the fluorescent lamp.
