发明名称 MULTILAYERED LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of an element, to enable simultaneous display in many layers, and to improve the reliability of the element by forming the outermost substrates with glass and using a plastic film provided with a polarizer as other internal substrate. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film substrate 5 is formed by laminating polarizing film supports 71, 72 on both sides of a central polarizing film 6, and electrically conductive transparent films 81, 82 are formed on the outsides of the supports 71, 72 by sputtering or other method. The thickness of the film 5 can be regulated to 0.1-0.3mm.. The film 5 is held between upper and under glass substrates 11, 12 while interposing a liq. crystal layer 2 between the film 5 and each of the substrates 11, 12. The resulting element is impermeable to moisture and comparable to a glass element in reliability. The film 5 and the liq. crystal layers 2 can be held perfectly between the glass substrates 11, 12 to reduce the thickness.
