PURPOSE:To provide a battery having a mechanically strong electrode, high energy density, flat discharge voltage, long cycle life, and compact size by using as an electrode a composite material comprising acetylene high polymer a conductive material, and conductive porous material. CONSTITUTION:A composite material comprising acetylene high polymer, a conductive material, and a conductive porous material is used as at least one electrode. Acetylene high polymer of powder having a mean particle diameter of 0.2cm or less, or fine fragments or short fibers having a length of 2cm or less is preferable. The conductive material having a conductivity of 1OMEGA<-1>.cm<-1> is used and carbon black or acetylene black is preferable. A fibrous material obtained by mixing metal to plastic material has light weight and is conductive, and is preferable as the conductive porous material. The conductive porous material having a particle size of 10 mesh or more, preferably 20 mesh or more is used. |
