This invention is directed to a cosmetic deodorant composition comprising: (a) from about 0.1 to 5 percent by weight, based on the weight of the total composition, of aminobenzoic acid amides of the formula wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each represent hydrogen, an alkyl of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; a hydroxyalkyl of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; an aryl; an aralkyl or carboxyalkyl with from 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety; or an alkoxyalkyl with from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkoxy moiety and from 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, or R1 and R2 together with the amide nitrogen form an optionally substituted heterocyclic ring; and (b) the remainder conventional cosmetic deodorant composition compounds.
