OPEN AIR BURNERS Difficulties are encountered with a burner when the device is mounted in the open air, as the same is subjected to winds or storms, or other changing climatic conditions, especially when the burner is an infrared heater of the type operated with a gas-like fuel and having a housing for preparing the fuel-air mixture which is open on one side, as well as a burner plate with a plurality of combustion channels provided on the open side of the housing, a device for supplying fuel and air, and a funnel-shaped housing part mounted on the front faces of the housing which is mounted at a distance from the burner plate on the open side of the housing. In order to obtain the maximum or total heat capacity or radiation effect, respectively, during difficult climatic conditions, wind screen devices are provided at the coupling area of the fuel and air supply device, as well as on the radiation side of the burner plate. |
