In order to avoid individual translatory movements of articles, such as car bodies (10), which are to be processed and are following one another in a straight line, transversely to the linear direction (15) of transportation for the purposes of processing the articles on exterior surfaces (11, 12), to which the transport straight line (15) is perpendicular, it is proposed that each article (10) to be processed is rotated through 90 DEG before its processing by means of a rotating device (21), about its vertical which intersects the transport straight line (15) at right angles, so that the said exterior surfaces (11, 12) which are to be processed are opposite to processing equipment (17) whose connecting straight line (18) intersects the transport straight line (15) and the said vertical at right angles. After processing, the article (10) is rotated back (or rotated onwards through 90 DEG ) so that it again assumes its original longitudinal position (19) relative to the transport straight line (15). In terms of time, various controls of the processing and transport conditions are possible. <IMAGE> |
