PURPOSE:To reduce the time for diagnosis without damaging a fixation device, by subjecting the parts having no relation with the operation of a heating roll to self-diagnosis irresepectively of the surface temp. of the heating roll in the stage of commanding a self-diagnosis mode. CONSTITUTION:The codes corresponding to diagnosing parts n1, n2...nn are inputted to a control device from a display part for the number of copies upon turning on of a key for starting copying. If, for example, n1 is designated as a main motor and n2 as a scanning clutch, both relate to a heating roll, and when FLAG2=1 does not hold, a WAIT is displayed on the display part and the checking by self-diagnosis is prohibited. On the other hand, when the above- mentioned equation holds on heating up of the heating roll, the WAIT disappears and a READY or the like is displayed and the self-diagnosis operation is executed. If, conversely, the diagnosing part nn has no relation with the operation of the heating roll, for example, if it is the part relating to the display part for the number of copies or the like, the READY is displayed simply when FLAG1=1 holds irrespectively of the presence or absence of FLAG2=1. |
