PURPOSE:To facilitate setting operation, by comparing the spectral pattern data obtained by spectrally analyzing the object to be discriminated with those of plural reference colors memorized in advance and judging one of the reference colors as its color when amts. of deviations between both data do not exceed a certain value. CONSTITUTION:A reference light P illuminates the object X to be discriminated with an illumination means 2 in a color analyzing section 1, and a spectral analyzing means 3 separates the reflected light Q into the 3 primary colors to detect each primary light level. Each color level is divided by the total of each level, and the spectral pattern data obtd. by standardizing each primary color level are formed with a standardizing means 4. These spectral pattern data of the object X provided from the station 1 are compared with those of the plural reference colors stored in advance, and when amts. of deviations between both do not exceed a predetermined value, this reference color is judged as the discriminated color of the object X with a discrimination means 6, and this discriminated reference color is indicated with a display means 7. |
